Just Nod If You Can Hear Me.
I hate to keep bugging you about this but, for some crazy reason, there’s still only 34 sign-ups for the GEZ pre-launch page HERE so it would be super-awesome if you’d click on that “notify me” button.
HERE is the updated draft of the campaign. Check it out and feel free to note any feedback/suggestions you care to share. You can also email me your thoughts or DM me on Facebook/Instagram.
A quick rundown:
Now the prices of the rewards all include shipping and handling. (Note that I may have to adjust the pricing when the campaign launches if shipping prices change between now and then.)
Some of the add-ons will incur a small additional charge for shipping.
Shipping will only be within the USA.
There will be a PDF version of all books, in case you’re international or it’s just your preference.
Everything will be available from the get-go. No unlockable stretch goals. Unless the campaign is wildly successful and I can entertain producing some extra stuff. (I’m considering making production of issue #2 a stretch goal. Or integrating #2 into #1, making it a giant-sized issue. We’ll see.)
I’m a simple man (some might even call me a simpleton) so I like to keep things basic and straightforward. There is a digital tier, a book-only tier and a get-it-all “superfan” tier.
I decided not to add a mid-tier because pretty much everything can be added-on and my margins on each item are pretty slim so there’s not much wiggle room to include a discount on lower quantity or lower priced items.
There are a few items exclusive to the “superfan” reward and a discount is incorporated.
I adjusted the pricing of some of the items. For example, the set of 2 standard trading cards is now just $5.
Some items will be very limited and I’ll have a special day-one item so signing up on the pre-launch page would be a smart decision!
Speaking Of Which…
Here’s a special day-one item that I’ll be offering. (I might come up with more stuff to offer later.) This is a METAL trading card with one of Gunny’s previous design iterations done by Moonee and also with the initial logo design. I will never make any more of these! I had 5 of these made up last year just as a test. I’ll be keeping one for my archives and offering the other 4 to the first four physical pledge backers.
A Special Thank You!
For anyone that has backed any of my previous campaigns on Kickstarter or Indiegogo, I’ve decided to do something to show my gratitude. As I’ve stated before, it’s been difficult for me to gain supporters (I’m not sure why but I have a hunch) so I’m sincerely grateful to everyone that has believed in these projects enough to financially support them. Originally, I was thinking of offering a flat discount to any returning backer that pledged in the GEZ campaign but I found out from KS that wasn’t allowed. So, what I’ve decided to do instead is throw in a second copy of GEZ to any returning backer that pledges for a physical reward. Obviously, this would require you to be using the same mailing address/contact info so that I have a record of your previous support.
If you have a suggestion for an alternate/additional reward, just let me know. I’m open to all ideas!
Preparing For The Horror Season
Here’s another teaser image from the adult horror anthology that I want to crowdfund with six:eight Chapter Two later this year. This is another sample from Brian Azcurra. He works traditionally on paper so I might have the original art available to offer to fans one day. I’ll get into more details on this project once the GEZ Kickstarter is completed.
The Amazing Con-Man
One of the things I mentioned in this year’s first newsletter was my desire to start selling at conventions and chronicling that whole process. Well, it looks like that will actually happen. On March 19th, there will be a con in Hickory, North Carolina (which is about an hour’s drive from me) and I found out that a table there only costs $20. So I’m currently scrambling to get all the supplies I need and to prepare various signage. In the next newsletter, I should be able to share pics/vids of how I plan to setup my table/booth.
Share The Love
Just thought I’d share some other crowdfunding campaigns that you might want to check out. This is not part of any cross-promo thing with the other creators. I have actually pledged for these books. I’m just doing this because I think supporting other indie creators is important.
There’s An Alien In My Toilet on Kickstarter
Gun Demon on Indiegogo
Blood & Fire on Kickstarter
By the time the next newsletter goes out, I should have a finalized version of the campaign and a firm start date.
